Management Board
Mr. Zbigniew Prus has been inextricably
linked with rail transport for over 30 years.
He gained his experience in the structures of
Polskie Koleje Państwowe (Polish State
Railways) and companies of the PKP
CARGO S.A. Group, performing both
managerial and administrative functions,
which translated into a thorough
understanding of the specifics of the railway
sector. Mr. Zbigniew Prus's distinguishing
competence is the effective implementation
of corrective and development measures while serving as President of the Management Board and
Member of the Management Board in companies of the PKP CARGO Capital Group, which
translated into a significant improvement in financial results and increased operational efficiency.
He has also been directly involved in numerous restructuring and optimization processes at PKP
CARGO S.A. companies, gaining extensive knowledge in the field of rolling stock operation and
maintenance, implementation of modern operating programs, and improvement of transport
processes.
Currently, Mr. Zbigniew Prus serves as President of the Management Board at PKP CARGO
Service and as Management Board Representative for Operations at PKP CARGO S.A. under
restructuring. In 2017, he served as Management Board Representative for Rolling Stock
Management. From 2017 to 2021, he was Director of the Transport Management Office. From
2021 to 2024, he served as Member of the Management Board for Operations at PKP CARGO
SERVICE. In 2024, he was President of the Management Board at PKP CARGO International.
Throughout his career, Mr. Zbigniew Prus has consistently improved his qualifications and
deepened his knowledge in the field of transport and management. He graduated from the Radom
University of Technology with a master's degree in engineering, specializing in transport. In 2008,
he graduated from the Gdańsk Foundation for Management Development with a degree in
Management Skills Improvement, and then obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA)
degree from the University of Business in Dąbrowa Górnicza. His comprehensive education
provides a solid foundation for Mr. Zbigniew Prus's activities in the dynamic and demanding
railway environment. He holds numerous certificates, such as: “Financial Statement Analysis”;
“Fundamentals of Finance” from the EY Academy of Business, “Management 3.0: How to
Maintain Motivation and Development”; “Excellent Strategy”; “Business Negotiations and Crisis
Negotiations” from the WSB Academy. Mr. Zbigniew Prus has been honored with the
“Meritorious for Railways” award and the “Silver Medal for Long Service.”
A graduate of law from the University of Wrocław, Paweł completed his judicial training in 1997 and his legal counsel training in 1999. Since 1997, he has served as a receiver in bankruptcy proceedings, as well as a supervisor and administrator in restructuring cases. On February 9, 2022, he was awarded the professional title of Qualified Restructuring Advisor. Since January 2000, he has been working as a legal counsel. He also held the position of Vice-Chairman of the Circuit Disciplinary Court at the Circuit Chamber of Legal Counsel in Wrocław. From 2021 to 2023, he served as the President of the Lower Silesian Association of Receivers.
Graduated of the Faculty of Management and Marketing, University of Lodz.
He completed and passed the MBA (Master of Business Administration) exam at the Gdansk Foundation for Management Education and at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. He is certified in PRINCE II, Project Management and CRM, Management 2004 - Harvard Business School Publishing, Canadian International Management Institute and completed a course for candidates for members of supervisory boards and management boards of state-owned companies.
He has 25 years of experience in finance and management, including, in particular, financial management, building new products as well as creating corporate strategies, implementing IT projects and restructuring, repairing and acquiring business entities.
Professionally, he was associated with the banking sector, among others. He worked at PKO Bank Polski, PKO S.A. Pension Society and BOŚ Investment Mgt. At the Pension Society, he co-created an IT system for asset valuation according to the Embedded Value model and amortization of acquisition costs
over time.
He managed a car and van rental company - 99RENT Sp. z o.o., where, in addition to development, a system was built to manage short- and medium-term rentals. Then, after taking over the Enterprise/National/Alamo franchise, he rebuilt the company's position on the Polish market.
He served as a Member of the Board of Directors for Finance at PZU Tower (PZU Group property management), Arcus S.A. and Arcus Systemy Informatyczne. During his work for Ciech S.A., he was responsible for restructuring, building the group's strategy, IPO project and acquisitions of companies
from the EU area of the chemical industry.
He served on the supervisory boards of business entities: Zakład Urządzeń Przemysłowych Nysa S.A., Pedmo Tychy S.A., Polcomerce KFT, Biowet Drawel S.A., Przedsiębiorstwo Budownictwa
Ogólnego S.A. in Wroclaw, Radpol S.A. Człuchów, and Arcus S.A.
