Signing of a letter of intent with Centralny Port Komunikacyjny
The administrator of the restructuring estate of PKP CARGO S.A. under restructuring (the “Company,” “PKP CARGO”) announces that on July 10, 2026, the Company signed a letter of intent with Centralny Port Komunikacyjny sp. z o.o. (“CPK”) a letter of intent expressing the intention to establish cooperation aimed at developing a concept and subsequently enabling PKP CARGO to participate in projects related to the development of rail freight transport as part of the “Port Polska” investment program, which includes the construction of a new central airport, rail and road infrastructure, and a logistics center (“Letter of Intent”).
The purpose of the signed Letter of Intent is the willingness to engage in potential cooperation (including analytical, conceptual, and design work) regarding the exploration of PKP CARGO’s involvement in projects related to the development of rail freight transport within the ”Port Polska” investment.
According to its provisions, the parties expressed their readiness for possible cooperation and dialogue in the areas of:
– taking into account the needs of the freight rail market when planning rail, logistics, and terminal infrastructure,
– organizing rail freight transport related to the operation of ‘Port Poland’,
– developing intermodal transport,
– handling the transport of materials, raw materials, and components related to the implementation of infrastructure investments.
The planned cooperation will also include analyses of freight transport demand, the development of logistics and terminal infrastructure, the location of transshipment terminals, rail sidings, and logistics centers, the impact of the “Port Polska” investment on the rail freight market, and the potential for using digital solutions in logistics and transport processes.
PKP CARGO has declared its readiness to cooperate in developing guidelines for the organization of freight transport during the implementation phase of the “Port Polska” project and during its operational phase.
PKP CARGO also declared that, for the purposes of potentially carrying out the tasks specified in the Letter of Intent, it will undertake further actions—both independently and in cooperation with CPK—aimed at developing the operational, rolling stock, terminal, and organizational capabilities necessary for the potential implementation of projects related to the logistical support of Port Polska, taking into account market and economic conditions.
In order to implement the objectives of this Letter, the Parties have expressed their willingness to participate in the work of the Technical Dialogue Forum’s working groups, which serve as a platform for exchanging information, conducting dialogue, and developing joint concepts and recommendations.
The letter of intent is nonbinding and does not constitute a binding agreement, but confirms the parties’ intention to continue discussions and potentially cooperate with one another. The letter of intent was entered into for an indefinite period.
